How to Achieve a Mindset Shift from “Have To” to “Get To”

The Basics of Perspective Shifting
It all starts with perspective shifting. You have to learn how to take negative thoughts and turn them into positive ones. For example, instead of thinking “I have to go to work today,” think “I get to go to work today and make money doing something I enjoy.” Or instead of saying “I have to do the dishes, think “I get to do the dishes so I can have a clean house at the end of the day.” It may seem silly at first but trust me—once you start using this technique consistently, your outlook on life will change significantly for the better.

Practicing Gratitude Helps Too
In addition to perspective shifting, practicing gratitude can help shift your mindset from “have-to-do” mode into “get-to-do” mode. Taking time each day—just 5 minutes is enough—to reflect on all the things you are grateful for can really make a difference in how fulfilled and content with life you are. Gratitude helps us cultivate an attitude of appreciation and positivity that influences our behavior and our decision making towards more productive outcomes.

The Law of Attraction states that whatever energy we put out into the universe is what we will attract back (hence why it is so important that we focus on positive energy). All it takes is one small shift in mindset from “have-to” mode into “get-to” mode for amazing things start happening in our lives!
